An Untimely Death - Brother Larry “Kap” Kapitany (update)

Our Friend and Brother Larry Kapitany was killed on his way home from the Charlotte Scottish Rite Study Group Meeting last night, when a deer ran out in front of his motorcycle. I’m sure that his Wife Lauren would appreciate your prayers. Kap had two daughters and two grandchildren, he was a very happy Grandfather.

Kap was a good friend and Brother to me. Always a friendly face and a kind word from this good man. He was a member of East Gate Lodge No. 692, Charlotte Scottish Rite, Charter Member of the Knights of Saint Andrew, as well as our Research Group. My second time as Master of a Lodge (2005), he hand crafted a beautiful Masonic Gavel for me. He will be sorely missed.

Arrangements are as follows: the Family will receive friends at the Woodlawn Funeral Home (375 Woodlawn Ave., Mt. Holly, NC 28120. Phone is 704-820-0608) between 4:00PM and 5:45PM on Saturday, October 13t, 2007. The Scottish Rite Funeral Service will be performed by WB Allen Hardy (assisted by the Brethren and KSA) at 6:00PM. Brother Dave McKinzie will play bagpipes. I will let you know of any changes.

My most sincere condolences to the Kapitany Family. They have lost a beloved Father and Grandfather.

Our Charlotte Masonic Family has lost a dear Friend and Brother. Ride free Kap may the wind be always at your back, there are no stop signs in Heaven only gentle winding roads with beautiful vistas.
